Giannis Petridis books
Giannis Petridis was born in Athens in the late ’40s and has been working in the field of music in Greece as a producer for a very long time. In 1975 he began his broadcasting career at the Greek Radio with a radio program called «Pop Club», which later on was changed to «From 4 pm to 5 pm». The program stayed on the air for 39 years, on the same radio station, broadcasting from Monday to Friday from 4 pm to 5 pm and becoming a daily music radio program that outlasted any other, not only in Greece but worldwide as well. He has interviewed many well known Greek and foreign artists and music bands on his radio program: David Byrne, John Barry, Ennio Morricone, Joe Cocker, Nick Cave, Rory Gallagher, Dire Straits, Roxy Music et al. In 1978 Giannis Petridis issued along with Kostas Zougris the magazine Pop & Rock that focused mostly on foreign music. This cooperation lasted until 1998. He has also been freelance writing for well known greek newspapers and magazines, such as mesimvrini, eleftherotypia and Epikaira in its first form.
