Hatenanny Records
The Record Label of the American Nazi Party
The Hatenanny record label was founded by George Lincoln Rockwell, who was also the founder of the American Nazi Party. In the 1960s, Rockwell attempted to draw attention to his cause by starting a small record label, named Hatenanny Records (the name was based on the word "hootenanny", a term given to folk music performances). The label released several 45 RPM singles, including recordings by a group credited as Odis Cochran and the Three Bigots ,and were sold mostly through mail order and at party rallies. |
Absolutely nothing is known about Odis & The 3 Bigots other than what is included on this single's sleeve notes - they were fronted by'country music star' Odis Cochran, and that's about all the info! A truncated version of one of the band's recordings, "Ship Those Niggers Back" appears in the documentary The California Reich. The song itself is a great tune, but marred by his ugly lyrics. |
The Hatenanny records was a short lived label because George Lincoln Rockwell had many supporters, but also many enemies. Several attempts were made on his life and in 1967 he was gunned down and killed while leaving a laundromat by John Patler a former member of Rockwell's group.
(His real name is John C. Patsalos (had Greek parents) ,and when he was five, his mother was shot and killed by his father, who was sent to Sing Sing Prison.)
After his death, with much controversy and security, Rockwell probably was buried in Arlington Cemetery.
