TEAC Open Reel Cassette System

Back in the 80s when the The Compact Cassette or Musicassette (MC) was the number one music format, several companies creates beautiful Cassettes copying the look of the reel to reel tapes!

Then somewhere in the middle 80s the TEAC corporation creates the 'Open system cassette' (O'Casse) getting closer  not only in appearance but also in the philosophy of reel to reel tapes!

The result was  an unusual cross between an open reel tape and the compact cassette.

Due to the small size needed  extremely delicate handling to preparing it for use , and we think this was the reason that many people call it a very bad and worthless idea, but if we exclude the difficulties in use is a very beautiful reel tape miniature and most important... it plays!!!
As far as we know the 'O'Casse' was only available in Japan.
Now you can find some of them on ebay but in extremely high prices.
